It was (Johnny) Snake’s idea. For his birthday. He wanted to challenge the community. The toughest weather, mean streets of NYC. Fixed Gear/No Brakes. This wild style was popular with a certain amount of Maniacs. Everybody liked to talk sh*t about who was the best and now it was time to put your money where your mouth was. Vlad made the flyer, sitting at the bar at Sophie’s on E5th St.

We didn’t realize at the time but Monster Track would grow to symbolize the USA’s urban bike explosion. We were the outlaws, the risk takers. Our community was doing it for fun and glory, excited that other freaks would travel far and wide to be a part of the magic.
Greg Ugalde’s iconic flyer art would set this event apart from all other street races. Capturing the magical spirit, the danger and the rush!
Did I mention I won Monster Track 4? Well let me just make sure you know haha.
Every Year the kids keep coming and it’s the biggest underground street racing event in the world alongside Cranksgiving

The City Council passed a slate of bills on Thursday to improve conditions for delivery workers:
‘The six bills will establish minimum payments required for delivery workers, and allow workers to set a maximum distance per trip that they will travel, including parameters they can set around bridges or tunnels. They will stop apps from charging workers fees to receive their pay and require workers be paid at least once a week. One bill will force apps to disclose their tipping policies and make them more transparent to workers; another will stop apps from charging delivery workers for insulated bags, which can cost up to $50. And one will require that restaurants allow workers to use their bathrooms.’
